All three were stitched on 28-ct Water Lily Jobelan using Weeks Dye Works. Made some changes to "A Very Merry Christmas". Stitched the reindeer in DMC 869 instead of white, and eliminated the border. Will finish it as a triangle-shaped instead of a square ornament.

My first ornament ever! Thank you hugely to Wilma for the advice. My ribbon is slightly askew due to a fight between my right thumb and some hot glue. It will make no different once it is hung on a Christmas tree however.

Designed by Marie Barber, and featured in the December 2003 issue of Just Cross Stitch. Stitched on "mystery" colored cashel linen. Both were stitched on the same fabric. They look different because I tried to "fix" the scan.

Ornament advice needed.

For all of you that do ornies all the time, I need some help. I have a small ornament from a kit that is in the shape of a little stocking. Naturally the kit instructions are useless. I am thinking of backing the cut-out fabric ( also stocking-shaped to match the design ) with some interfacing so that I can hot-glue some batting to the back of it. I want to back it with felt. It's pretty small so I don't really want it to be stuffed, just slightly poufy. Is this a reasonable idea...

It's Santa by Knotted Tree Needle Art from the 2007 JCS ornament edition. Stitched with the listed threads except for WDW Whitewash which I subbed with plain old DMC white.

April ornie!

I finished stitching another ornie from one of the JCS issues....someday I'll get caught up! This one is from the 2003 issue by Katherine Moser of Brown House Studio and is called Cedar Waxwing at Christmas. Stitched over 1 on the called for 18ct vintage linen with called for threads. Spring is the only time we see these birds as they pass through in flocks and devour all the holly berries on our trees just before the trees bloom....they have great timing!
